Cholesterol levels rise in the winter and fall in the summer

Recent research has shown that seasons effect the cholesterol levels.

So, if you have your lab test in the winter you may get a call from your MD to take statin drugs.  But if you change nothing and have your lab test done in the summer, all may be “normal”.
